Chunghwa Telecom Co., Ltd. is a major telecommunications operator in Taiwan, originally part of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications’ Telecommunication Department. In 1996, following Taiwan’s telecom liberalization policies under the “Telecommunication Three Acts,” it was spun off and corporatized. Its business scope covers fixed-line telecommunications, mobile communications, and data communications.
