Nonetheless, with the impact of factors such as population growth and climate change, global food security encounters severe challenges. According to the United Nations, approximately one-third of the world’s food is wasted annually, equivalent to 9.31 billion tons of discarded food. Even more concerning, over 800 million people worldwide still suffer from hunger, while food waste continues to escalate. Wasted food not only inflicts significant economic losses but also poses serious environmental threats.
In addition, whether food waste is incinerated or landfilled, it generates substantial greenhouse gases and exacerbates climate change. The majority of the world’s discarded food ends up in landfills, where it decomposes and produces a large amount of methane, a potent greenhouse gas with a warming effect 25 times greater than carbon dioxide.
The vicious cycle of climate warming is continuously disrupting global food production systems. Our company is committed to mitigating this crisis through black soldier fly (BSF) farming. We aim to contribute to the advancement of sustainable development by ensuring food security and protecting the environment.
